The Cosplay Closet is a series of vignettes and videos about cosplaying my favorite pop culture characters. These characters range from popular gaming & comic book characters. Enjoy behind the scenes footage and the journey of making a costume and prop from scratch. Cosplay is short for ‘costume play’ and is a cultural phenomenon that started in Japan in the early 80's. The term was officially coined by Japanese reporter Nobuyuki Takahashi in 1984. Cosplay used to be a very small part of convention but recently due to easy access & shared knowledge about materials and techniques on how to build props and costumes, the cosplay culture has become a defining part of Geek Culture.
